Did you know – the Vernon Odd Fellows Lodge, home to the International Order of Odd Fellows of Vernon, was once at the corner of Route 5 and S. Sconondoa Street, on the same side as the Methodist Church.
The former home was once designed in the French Second Empire style, with mansard roof, colonnaded entry and porch, and rusticated corner details. It is said to have had intricately designed wooden interior features as well. Even today, the shape remains similar, as do the front porch columns and frieze
