This blue ribbon pin commemorates Col. David T. Jenkins of Vernon, NY, who served in the acclaimed 146th infantry regiment of New York Volunteers, which included the 5th zouaves. Col. Jenkins was killed in the battle of the Wilderness, May, 1864
